Dear parents and guardians,

A large number of students who attend Harnett County Schools are classified as “Federally Connected” students. These students have at least one parent who is either active-duty military personnel or individuals who work or live on federal property.

Tomorrow, October 15, Harnett County Schools will send a “Federally Connected Survey” home with every student. Please take a moment to complete a survey form for each student in the household. Additionally, this year HCS has combined the Impact Aid Survey with the Every Student Succeeds Act Military Student Identifier form. The district is asking all military-connected families, regardless of their status, to participate. Please submit one form per child and return the survey to your child’s school by Tuesday, October 22. Every student who is classified as “Federally Connected” translates into much-needed dollars for Harnett County Schools. Federally Connected information can also make certain schools eligible for grants, which also translates into much-needed additional dollars for the school.

Again, every HCS student will receive a survey form on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Please ask your child for the form, take a few moments to complete it, and return it to your child’s school.
